Microsoft has released an app in the Google Play store designed to get people to stop using said store and the Android phones that connect to it. Simply called “Switch to Windows Phone,” it scans your Android phone for all of your installed apps and then saves the results with your Microsoft ID. Then, using a companion app on Windows Phone itself, you can sign in and see all of the equivalent apps in Microsoft’s own store, tapping through to install them each one-by-one. It doesn’t show current Android users what those matched apps are, but it could be helpful to recent switchers.

Question by agua_2000_fr: How to find a job selling robots and automation systems in the UK or the US? I currently live in Bristol, UK, and am interested in getting into the robotics industry. I have management, sales, marketing and general business experience, although I am not sure what is the quickest way to find a job in that industry. Any ideas? Anyone knows the leading companies in these fields right now? Any company that has a high demand, cutting edge product right now? Thanks

Microsoft has had speech recognition in Windows Phone since it first debuted, but it looks like the company is preparing a fairly significant upgrade. In a leaked video from Microsoft’s TechFest earlier this month, the research team demonstrates speech recognition speed and accuracy improvements, and a new “streaming mode” that can be enabled to allow Windows Phone users to search while they speak.
It looks similar to Android’s latest implementation, but Bing’s method goes one step further by adding the ability to produce inline search results while you’re still talking.
