Twitter’s video-sharing app, Vine, has been used for a variety of teasers, including a Wolverine movie, a TV series, and the new Daft Punk album. Keen to promote its Internet Explorer browser, Microsoft is taking to Vine to create some entertaining and unique six-second sequences. In a series of “not your father’s browser” clips posted to its browser you loved to hate site, Microsoft is once again poking fun at the perceptions of its old web browser.
The vines depict a relationship between old Internet Explorer and his son, modern Internet Explorer. One shows Internet Explorer 10 celebrating the news that he’s adopted. Another includes a bluescreen when old Internet Explorer attempts to rotate, a modern feature of Internet Explorer 10….
Google I/O 2013 is entering day two in San Francisco and a Google Glass developer session is happening right now. The focus is on the current Mirror API, which allows for online, web services-based apps that push simple content to the headset. This enables current apps like the New York Times. But, the Mirror API is quite limited, allowing only online apps and not providing any direct access to the Glass hardware. That’s changing, though, with Google announcing the Glass Developer Kit, or GDK. This will allow for Android apps that run directly on the Glass hardware, providing much greater functionality and offline access. When is it coming? “Sometime in the future” is the best we’re able to get.

Because I like sharing cool watches with you guys I decided to share this cool watch with you guys. It’s called the Ressence Type 3 and it’s actually a liquid-filled mechanical watch with a nearly featureless face. Each of those dials – registers in the parlance – look like they are seamlessly embedded in the face surface and the watch, being suspended in synthetic oil, has no crown and is wound automatically.
Arguably the movement itself isn’t very special – it’s a standard timekeeper that displays the date and includes a rotating seconds wheel – but the way the entire package is put together is a feat of horology. The sapphire crystal surrounds the face almost completely and the back of the watch hides the manual winding mechanism and a switch that allows you to change the time.
On the wrist, the watch looks like a blob of liquid with markings suspended in it. It’s as if you were wearing a slug of liquid metal or a dollop of crude oil. The entire face spins (you can see it in action here) and a pressure valve compensates for temperature-related changes in the liquid.
You can see hands-on photos right here or visit the product page. The watch, sadly, costs $ 34,000 and comes in a wildly limited edition but it may be worth it just to say that your watch is literally full of alien liquids.

I don’t normally post videos that give me seizures, but every once in a while something comes along that hurts my brain so badly that I can’t NOT share the pain. This is one of those videos.
