We’ve uploaded a new video answering some of the viewer’s questions and showing off some more performance of the Xoom, Check it out here: www.youtube.com As with our previous video, this showcases ICS running on the Motorola Xoom Wifi and just how fast the tablets can be now that we have a proper OS running on it. It performs as fast as many of the “newer” tablets we see on the market today. We’ll be keeping this channel up to date with the new builds being posted by razorbladex401. This install is not for the feint of heart as it is VERY possible that you can do irreversible damage to your device if you do not know how to properly do this procedure. Check out the full article here on our website: droidnerds.com We did NOT build this or compile this and take absolutely no credit for doing so, this was all done by XDA user razorbladex401 for which we are very thankful! Thanks for watching and keep tuned through here and on www.DroidNerds.com to keep up to date on the newest Android ICS news! XDA Forum thread: forum.xda-developers.com

help, please. where do i post a question about the new android 4.0 that i was directed to download to my xoom on 1/18/12. i having troubles with the xoom screen going dark when i have my xoom connected via hdmi cable to a tv monitor. for example if i activate an icon, from a web site, for enlarging the web site video, the xoom screen goes black as well as the tv monitor. i do however continue to hear audio.

Ice Cream Sandwich has absolutely messed up my xoom. My browser locks up intermitantly and I have to reboot the tablet to get the browser to clear from the screen. It looks like Hello Kitty pucked on the whole thing. So far all its done is make me want Honeycomb back in a big way. I never had these problems with honeycomb. The final release sucks bad.

They got the camera working over at XDA developers

  • droidnerds:

@Scourgy21 Chances are the performance increase will stay, but as soon as the XDA community gets some official sources (includes drivers and whatnot for the cameras) You will be seeing some really well done ROMS. It’s up to you, I personally use it as a daily driver (but it has some deep sleep issues sometimes which drains your battery pretty bad when the screen is off). Up to you.

  • Scourgy21:

I understand this is the unofficial ice cream sandwich OS but can we expect the official release to have the same performance increase? just wondering wether i should manualy update via xda or wait for the 4.0 conversion :P

  • droidnerds:

@Gatech0 Pretty much, the layout and most of the things are the exact same if not very similar. The system is just very fast compared to Honeycomb.

  • Gatech0:

    Is 90% = to Honeycomb :S

  • droidnerds:

@22s22a It’s a development build, there are currently many things broken. It’s only recommended for people who are familiar with flashing.

  • 22s22a:

is this an update? where can I find it?

  • slafkec:

hi, thank you for review. have you maybe tried connecting xoom via HDMI to TV set? on honeycomb, sound quality is disappointing via HDMI port.

  • sparty115:

I was hoping ICS would speed up my xoom, It always had solid hardware but honeycomb always felt chugging at times. Now I cant wait for the official update but good work guys.

  • droidnerds:

@imafan We have had no issues with the screen, or the devices in general, since purchasing the Xoom when they first came out. I’m personally really impressed with the build quality of the device. The screen seemed lacking in Honeycomb, but believe me or not, The quality seems a lot better since upgrading to ICS

  • imafan:

Do you have the oil slick problem lol? I want the xoom I got the sgt 10.1 for Christmas..
