@jon4lakers Can we put Honeycomb on another Android tablet? What makes the Nook special – is it that you have to root it anyway? Or is it just the cost?
(Should we stick with Froyo, or try Honeycomb?)

  • dnissen2012:

No. Nook actually runs android, that’s how this was discovered. People just put on Froyo (Android 2.2), and it worked. It’s not as fast as say, the ASUS or the DELL, but it is cheaper, and runs 4x longer than the Dell.

FYI, CyanogenMod 7 (Android Gingerbread) is probably still your best bet for a daily-use OS on the Nook Color. There is a Honeycomb 3.1 port now that’s nearly as functional as the 3.0 build, but CM7 is actually based on Gingerbread source code, whereas Google WILL NOT release HC’s code, so everything on HC is hacked and reverse-engineered, like a translation of a translation of a translation.

  • Ticomfreak:

If you flash it, it’ll wipe the nook OS, if you don’t, it’ll run from the SD card (So if you took out the SD it would boot into nook OS

anyway to replace the nook color battery?

  • GofreMcNoodle:

Does this override the Nook’s OS, or does it just boot ‘droid from the SD card and return to the Nook OS when it’s removed?
