The outfit has announced the Bamboo Stylus feel that touts performance similar to a ball-point pen (or S-Pen) for Windows 8 and Android slates outfitted with the company’s “feel IT” pen tech. Of course, this means that these styli make use of electromagnetic signals to interact with devices, differing from their capacitive Bamboo siblings that we’ve seen. Two options are set to arrive on January 7th with replacement nibs in tow and carrying price tags of $ 39.95 and $ 79.95, respectively. The full PR resides just beyond the break should you need a few more particulars before deciding.

With all the rumors about a new 9-pin connector on the iPhone, what could be better than a tube of bamboo that amplifies your iDevice or Android phone in a sustainable way? The iBam 2 is basically a tube of bamboo that channels sound out and away from the phone, thereby creating a superior, bamboo-infused experience.

The sad thing? It costs freaking $ 63.22 and they’re only sold in Singapore so you may have hop on a slow, sustainable solar boat to pick one up. However, as you see from the above video, a honking big bamboo tube can really spruce up an iPhone.

The creators, Pasargora, are a sustainable-living maker space and a portion of the proceeds go to supporting DIY activities in Singapore, so there’s that. Otherwise, get yourself to Pier 1 Imports and grab some bamboo and rock out.

I try my best to stay away from writing about speaker docks and phone cases. In my experience, they’re all the same, save for a few minor tweaks here and there. But today I stumbled upon a pretty novel little iPhone speaker dock that just so happens to be 100 percent green and uses no electricity whatsoever.

You’re intrigued. I can feel it.

Meet the iBamboo iPhone speaker dock. It’s made from a single piece of bamboo, and holds the iPhone in place as it plays music to amplify the sound. Granted, you won’t get any extra power in the lows or feel that bass keep bumpin’ bumpin’ (this beat goes boom, boom), but you will get some added volume and that’s all the casual listener needs anyways.

Plus, the iBamboo is pretty damn beautiful, in both bamboo and black color flavors. It exists in perfect harmony with the minimalist design of Apple products, and is eco-friendly to boot.

The folks over at iBamboo also make some other cool stuff, including a Bamboo iPhone 4/4S case, as well as a new line of iBamboo speaker docks made of recycled plastic. That line is called the iBamboo Speaker Urban, and while it looks exactly the same in terms of design, it comes in translucent and black plastic rather than Bamboo.

Stock is currently quite low on the iBamboo, so you may have to wait, but the site lists a notification alert system so if you’re really excited about this, I’d recommend signing up.

If you’re still not sold on this things legitimacy, check out this video of the iBamboo speaker doing its thang:

We were so beguiled by AD’s bamboo-bound smartphone that we had to track down the designer to get some hands-on time with these work-in-progress prototypes. We met up with Kieron-Scott Woodhouse (pun unintended) and he offered to bring along several of the latest prototypes for us to get to grips with. While the finished product will arrive in the lighter bamboo finish, the darker model’s button layout is closer to what we can expect on the final device. The ADZero is still set to launch between the end of 2012 and the start of 2013. Sustainable smartphone fans can browse through our gallery below, or read up on the phone’s journey — and our impressions — right after the break.

On the look out for some easy karma? Head over to Kickstarter and help make four woman’s bamboo iPad case a reality. The group is looking for $ 10,000 to bring their actually clever case to the market.

The Wüdskins case use bamboo and aluminum to encase a first-gen iPad in a solid and functional case. Sure, it’s a bit bulky and probably somewhat heavy, but you can’t argue against the protection it provides because bamboo is, you know, the Iron Man of wood.

The aluminum hinge rotates for multiple viewing angles. The prototype shown in the video is milled out of aluminium and therefore slightly larger than the cast version that will be used for the production model.

Pledges start at $ 5, but for $ 25, you’ll get a laser engraved bamboo plaque. $ 50 nets backers a Wüdskins t-shirt along with the plaque while $ 75 nets the previous two items along with an embroidered messenger bag. The real fun starts at $ 150 where backers will get a Wüdskins case. As of this post’s writing, the project is sitting at $ 725, which leaves just over $ 9,000 to raise in 29 days. Your karma is just a click away, friend.

In Asia, everything from scaffold to lunch is made with bamboo. Anywhere else the tough, fast-growing grass is always marketed as being environmentally friendly (even when it houses a the toxic wasteland that is a modern computer ). Today, we see the Bamboo Bottle, a water-bottle that makes the same world-saving claim. The most environmentally water-bottle is probably the plastic one your Evian or Volvic came in. Long lasting and recyclable (into fleece-jackets, sadly), they are also cheap and come with a few free liters of water thrown in. This is my choice, and a quick rinse with boiling water once in a while keeps things hygienic. The Bamboo Bottle is made from Bamboo, of course, but has a glass lining, which is removable for cleaning and is a lot easier to break than either plastic or aluminum. There are also plastic parts: a cap, a bottom cap and a top retaining ring. While it might not be as easy, light, cheap or durable as a regular plastic bottle, it is at least better-looking and all the parts can also be recycled. It will be available soon for $25, and will hold 17-ounces (half a liter) of liquid.
