These are some $ 63 dragon pajamas. They’re pajamas with a dragon hood attached so you and your lover can play Save the Princess in the bedroom. Granted I’m not sure how the hell Save the Princess works when YOU’RE the one dressed as a dragon, but my guess is it involves another dude kicking the door down swinging a plastic sword. Me? I have a strict “Maximum Occupancy: 2″ rule in the bedroom. I have enough trouble knowing what I’m supposed to do with one other person, I can’t imagine the dynamic with three or more. There’d be butts and stuff everywhere. Who am I touching? Is this a wiener? This is a wiener isn’t it? It feels weird holding one that’s not my own. You know what? You all have fun, I think I’m just gonna go make a sandwich.

Intel at CES promised a partnership with Nuance to give Ultrabooks a taste of ready-made voice recognition, and we’re finally seeing the results at IDF in San Francisco through the launch of Nuance’s Dragon Assistant Beta. As the name implies, this isn’t just a voice dictation engine like that in Naturally Speaking: chatty users can delegate common tasks like playing music, reading social network updates and searching the web. The beta isn’t immediately available as of this writing, but it should go live soon and will be a core part of of Ultrabook software bundles in the near future, starting with the Dell XPS 13 this fall. We’re wondering why Intel is focusing its Dragon Assistant efforts solely on thin-and-lights — the company still makes money from portlier PCs, after all — but we won’t mind as much given the simultaneous launch of a Perceptual Computing SDK 2013 Beta, which lets developers work Dragon recognition into their own apps. Although it was commonly assumed, Namco Bandai also confirmed the Episode of Bardock will be included with Dragon Ball Z Kinect. The game will be published in North America and Europe by Namco Bandai Games October 2012 for the Microsoft Xbox 360. The game will include the “Episode of Bardock”, an episode of the anime that has never previously been available in Europe. Dragon Ball Z For Kinect will also feature Bardock Super Saiyan as a playable character for the first time ever in the history of Dragon Ball video games. It was 40 years ago yesterday that Atari’s Nolan Bushnell taught the world to play. Bushnell, an engineer and game programmer, built and sold Atari in the late 1970s, ushering in the era of the video game and changing the way kids spent nice summer days. Atari is 40 years old this month and there have been a number of interviews and encomiums with Bushnell.
Bushnell installed his first game, Pong, at Andy Capp’s bar in Silicon Valley where drinkers lined up to drop quarters into the first bit of video entertainment. The company roared through the 1970s and then petered out in the early 80s as competitors created more interesting and visually complex systems and games.
The coolest thing? As Harry McCracken writes, Atari almost invented Internet gaming:
“Warner made a whole series of blunders which were not good for Atari,” he said. One example: “We were going to do this game network over telephone lines, but Warner couldn’t figure out why people would want to play games with people they couldn’t see.”“If we had gone ahead and done it, it could have essentially been the Internet, in private hands. It’s kind of fun to think about owning the Internet.”Atari is little more than a nostalgic note played by some games makers these days but Bushnell’s company essentially defined an era between high-powered home computing and low-end home entertainment. We owe Bushnell a debt of gratitude and, more important, you can play Adventure in browsers now so you can finally find the secret room.
