Question by cheese cake: How can i upload pictures straight from the internet on my samsung focus windows 7 phone? I want cute images from the internet so how can I download them straight to this phone

Best answer:

Answer by bw022Microsoft has a free 25GB of online storage via their SkyDrive. All you have to do is sign up for your (free) Live account and then the SkyDrive. You can then use it to upload via and view them from any web-browser. You have to view them through a web-browser, but it is great for sending links if you need to.

There are also options in WP7 to automatically upload camera pictures to SkyDrive so you have a backup. This is one way only, but still useful.

LinkedIn launches redesigned iOS, Android apps with a focus on the news stream

Recent moves by LinkedIn — including its acquisition of Pulse — suggested its eye was towards becoming a center of its users universe for much more than simple networking or job hunting, and its latest mobile updates continue on that path. Updates arriving today on the iOS and Android platforms are redesigned for more “delightful interactions” throughout the app. That means a shift of focus to the news stream, including conversations, updates from your network and of course, advertisements. Check after the break for a quick video demo of the new features or hit the blog for a description — whether it’s enough to overtake Twitter, Facebook or something else for your social dashboard remains to be decided.

Question by : Just bought a Samsung Focus, trying to find a GPS application that gives Turn by Turn Directions? Just like the title says, I would like to add that this phone is awesome and more that I could of asked for, definitely surpassed my expectations best Windows 7 Phone out there.

Best answer:

Answer by bw022Run the “Maps” application. It is included with all WP7 devices. Shows your location on a map. You can also type in a business name or address and it will display that. Finally, press the ‘Directions’ button at the bottom and it will display driving instructions from your location to the destination — along with showing the route highlighted in a smaller map above. As you reach the intersection, the GPS will automatically scroll to the next segment and highlight the next instruction.

Google has posted a video called “Ask Me Anything” to the newly revamped Nexus website, and it shows quite clearly what role Google plays in your life.

Google answers your questions. Yes, that sometimes means a real question like “How much does the Earth weigh?” But perhaps more often, the questions that Google answers for us come from a tangent. A random search, followed by a click, and another click, and another click, until you’re somewhere new, learning something unexpected.

Maybe it’s the videos you watch on YouTube, or the ebooks you buy, the games you play, or a particularly enlightening email from good old Uncle George.

The point, however, is that Google wants to give you as many ways to ask your questions as possible. The hardware is irrelevant.

So Google braved a storm in the North East that started out as a sheepish school girl and ended up in leather pants with a cigarette (you know, Sandy), and still managed to pull off their big announcement yesterday.

We officially met the Nexus 4 and Nexus 10, as Google refreshed the Nexus 7 with 3G.

So, the question now is, will you ask these devices anything?

Hasselblad H5D brings new autofocus and design, no shortage of damage to bank accounts

Medium format camera fans, brace for impact: there’s a new Hasselblad coming. The H5D supercedes the ages-old H4D with a True Focus II system that — we’re told — is both more accurate and immediately confirms its lock. Hasselblad has also reworked the body for a more rough-and-ready feel, giving the H5D bigger controls, an extra-bright viewfinder and better weatherproofing. A new RAW + JPEG capture mode, improved wide-angle-to-macro lens conversion and a fresh 24mm f/4.8 lens have also been added to tempt studio photographers. If all this sounds alluring, H5Ds will be available in 40-, 50- and 60-megapixel versions (plus 50- and 200-megapixel Multi-Shot variants) this December. We likely won’t know the effect on our bank accounts until at least a September 18th media event, but we wouldn’t assume any kind of populist pricing — Hasselblad’s tendency towards five-digit figures may limit any first-hand exposure to a rental.
