I got some hands-on time with both the Vita and PS3 versions and I must say, the two look virtually identical. While the developer has made it clear that the PS3 is the lead platform, the game really stood out on the handheld’s OLED screen. If anything, I actually think the Vita version may have even looked a bit crisper. Between the two, I actually enjoyed my time with the Vita version more than its console counterpart, feeling as though this kind of experience is better suited on the handheld anyway. That said, I’m confident any fan of the Sly franchise will eat this game up, and the added bonus of cross-platform play sure makes owning both copies quite alluring. Video Rating: 5 / 5

Whip out the out the old anagylphs, folks, because you’re going to want to watch this. Some kids at the Wonderland Elementary School sent up a weather balloon mounted with a carbon fiber frame carrying six GoPro HDHERO2 cameras. Four of the cameras were set in 3D configuration and, after editing, they were able to create the first stratospheric 3D video shoot using a balloon. You can watch it in YouTube with red/blue glasses.

The resulting footage, while fun, is actually a testament to the durability and low price of modern HD cameras. I remember shooting Estes rockets with a tiny camera in the nose to get blurry photos of my friends standing on the ground. Now you’re literally taking in hours of HD video data. In space.

You’ll also notice they attached a model of Space Battleship Yamato in front of the cameras. In layman’s terms, they did this because that ship is badass.

This is a video of various Star Wars movies that have been cut to make Yoda speak like a normal damn person and not in that weird jumble-talk that somebody in his youth obviously told him makes him sound smarter. So yeah, what Yoda would sound like speaking normally — now we know. Next up: what he looks like naked.

We liked Logitech’s Alert Video Security System when we took it for a week-long spin last year, which at that point allowed remote access to live HD camera footage, and video stored on your PC. But a new partnership with Dropbox adds cloud storage to the equation, letting you boot video directly to the web to supplement the PC- and microSD-based options already in place. Packages are available today, and come with 2GB of storage for free, 50GB for $ 10 per month or 100GB for $ 20 per month — Logitech isn’t exactly giving away the service, but when you consider that a bare-bones Alert system costs $ 300, those virtual add-ons sound a bit more reasonable. Jump past the break for the full rundown from Logitech, and get ready to beef up those passwords — having your email account hacked is one thing, but you certainly don’t want anyone watching you at home, in real-time or the past.

By the time winter rolls around, Alistair Roberts will probably remember his summer vacation a heckuva lot better than the rest of us. Why? Because he brought an FPV plane to record his mountain biking holiday in the Spanish sun. With a GoPro camera mounted on the servo-powered cradle, Alistair piloted the plane by moving his head and using a remote control — all while streaming first person video from the cockpit into a pair of goggles. By pairing the high tech toy with another GoPro on his dad’s mountain bike, and a stationary camera on the ground, Alistair was able to create a truly amazing vacation video from 1200 – 1500 feet in the air traveling around 20kmph (12mph) — way cooler than any of the ones our dads recorded back in the day. Check out the video after the break.

[Thanks, @btudor]
