All joking aside, GameChanger is actually pretty neat. It’s a combination iPad dock and playing board that isn’t limited to a single game. The Apple slate becomes an integral part of play, where you spin a virtual wheel to determine how many spots to move while the app tracks your progress. The board itself comes with different skins (two at the moment: The Magic School Bus and Animal Mania) that have their own particular set of animations, questions and tasks when you select the title from the free GameChanger app. There’s no dice or cards to lose, but you might be wishing for bits of plastic and cardboard when a sore loser tosses your tablet across the room. GameChanger is available now for $ 80 and a few more details can be spied in the PR after the break.

The Nintendo DS line has had many redesigns up to the present 3DS, but one thing that hasn’t changed are the tiny, easily lost cartridges. Enter Memorex’s $ 20 Universal Game Selector Case, announced as part of its gaming accessory lineup for E3. The UGSC stores up to three games and hooks up to the cartridge port on any DS, letting you swap between them using a signal routing switch. We’ve seen cases similar to this in the past, but Memorex’s take is the first to support 3DS titles as well. Based on the renders, the unit looks to make for a weird fit and some noticeable extra thickness (10.5mm to be exact), especially on the DSi XL, but hopefully we’ll get a better idea of how it feels in hand at E3. From a functionality perspective, the case does seem rather useful for those with forgetful tendencies, if a bit underwhelming for anybody else. Memorex will also be displaying its new third-party PS3 and Wii motion controllers at the E3, which are viewable in the gallery below, and there’s a press release with details after the break.

Well, well — what’s this? Wouldn’t you like to know. What it is, fine people, is the “device that becomes you, so you become faster.” Seriously, that’s the teaser line that Seagate’s feeding the press this fine morning, inviting us to join the company as it reveals the next “game-changing” device meant to boost system performance by a staggering 150 percent. Judging by the image above and the fact that ASUS’ ROG G73Jh gaming laptop will be first to house it, we’re guessing it’s a breed of SSD this world has never seen. We’re told that the mystery product will be 20 percent quicker than a 600GB 10,000rpm SATA drive, 80 percent faster than a conventional 7200rpm HDD and able to boot “within six seconds of an SSD drive.” It’ll also be able to “learn about its user to dynamically decrease disk time, boot time, and application load time,” and if you’re lucky, it may just cleanse that work coat of yours, whip up a nutritious breakfast and convert your clunker into a hovercraft. We’ll be finding out a lot more come May 26th — till then, try not to gnaw your nails past the cuticle.
