Question by : Is it possible to make a personal gamer picture with the Kinect? Because I can’t seem to do it. Can you only do it with the Xbox Live Vision Cam or what?

the link says that the xbox live vision cam and Kinect can BOTH take pictures but, as I said, I am unable to do so. Please help!

It’s Samsung’s very first gaming laptop, and takes things in the Series 7 lineup to their logical conclusion: there’s the 17.3-inch display, a quad-core Ivy Bridge processor, 16GB of RAM, and a Nvidia GeForce GTX 675M GPU packed into its husky 9.6 pound frame. diablo-gamer-couple.jpg

This is a picture of a loving couple cuddling and playing Diablo 3 simultaneously. I like how the girl gets the desktop and dude gets a crappy laptop on an ironing board. That’s a great metaphor for relationships. Man, sometimes my girlfriend even makes me sit at the kid’s table for dinner even though it’s just the two of us. But if I’ve been good she will give me a placemat and some crayons, so there’s that. No dessert if I draw penises though :(

Thanks to dibble, who asked what happens if you get a boner. Like, me personally, or the guy in the picture? Because if the guy in the picture gets one he wins the game. If I get one everyone points and laughs like they did that time in fourth grade oh God why I am bringing this up.

Screen Grabs: Serena's packing steam, Gossip Girl turns gamer

Didja hear the latest? Little Ms. Serena van der Woodsen is a closet gamer. Well, at least that’s what her icon tray is saying. A screen grab from a fresh episode of Gossip Girl betrays the little busybody while she’s negotiating the future of show’s namesake hearsay blog over chat. No, not Steam chat — she’s obviously running games distribution service in offline mode. We’d like to think she’s putting that HP Envy 14 Spectre to good use, but let’s face the facts: she’s probably just playing Bejeweled.

[Thanks, Michael]

Patrick Crowley

Benjamin J. Heckendorn is no stranger to game pads designed for people with disabilities, but the macro controller he just whipped up for Patrick Crowley (pictured above) might be his most impressive accessibility hack yet. On the latest episode of his show the modding extraordinaire crafts a breakout box that allows a complex set of commands to be triggered with just the touch of a button or foot switch. The box at the heart of the project is powered by a PIC microcontroller that takes inputs from a series of modular switches (up to eight) and turns them into virtual button presses that are fed to an Xbox 360 through a standard controller. In addition to being able to swap in eight different inputs, each one can be programmed to perform a different macro. We won’t ruin all of the fun — check out the PR and full episode after the break to watch everything from Ben Heck’s holiday epiphany through the final testing.
