Tweetro stats

Tweetro has fallen victim to Twitter’s strict new API policies that were announced earlier this year. According to an email we received from Tweetro developers, the app saw a huge spike in downloads after the release of Windows 8, and rapidly reached its 100,000 user token limit. Users now receive a “cannot connect to service” error when trying to authenticate the application, and Tweetro developers say the app is “completely crippled” as a result.

Twitter originally said that developers would have until January or March of 2013 to comply with the platform’s API changes, so Tweetro developers are questioning why their app has been cut off so early — especially when Twitter has yet to release its own official app for Windows 8. Tweetro…

Picture related: shouldn’t be behind the wheel.

24-year old Justin A. Clark was recently arrested for a DUI and blew a solid 0.627. For reference, 0.08 is the typical legal limit in the states, and most people involuntarily pass out with a blood alcohol content between 0.3 – 0.4. I…would not drink with him. Not even Snapple.

According to a North Liberty police criminal complaint, officers were dispatched to the area of Red Barn Drive at 10:05 p.m. July 29 for reports of a driver who was all over the road, hitting curbs and the vehicle had come to rest in a yard on Stone Creek Circle.

Police said a resident flagged down an officer to point out the driver, who was revving up his motor. The officer approached the driver, identified as Clark, from the driver’s side of the car. Clark was sitting in the driver’s seat and was unable to answer any of the officer’s questions, police said. He also was unable to get out of the vehicle, walk or perform field sobriety tests, police said.

Police said when they asked Clark where he thought he was, he said he was at home, and when they asked him what day it was, he replied, “Three, but now it is four.”

I’m totally gonna start using numbers for days and days for numbers now. That was like, the one good thing he did. But seriously folks, if you’re gonna go get shitty, take a cab. You can make out with a lady in the back while you get driven home. No lady? Play the “see if you can puke on the floor without the cabbie noticing” game. I’m two for four!

Thanks to LupusYonderBoy, who always plays it safe before drinking and stakes out a comfortable place to pass out in the bushes if he needs to.

Question by lalaladedum: What is a button sensor, limit switch, and sonar sensor when you are talking about robotics? What are they? What do they do? How many of them should you have in your robot? Where should you place them in your robot?

Best answer:

Answer by MarkGButton switch is a push button which activates when pressed. A limit switch is a type of switch that activates when an item reaches a desiginated point in its mechanical movement. To prevent an arm from being over extended a limit switch would be used to signal when the arm is fully extended. This limit switch could be a button switch

A sonar sensor is used to determine how far away an object is.

How many you have on your robot depends upon a number of factors such as the function of the robot and how much money you are willing to spend.

Where they are placed depends on how they are going to be used and how they work.

Windows Live SkyDrive logo

We saw screenshots of a future SkyDrive version leak over the weekend that offered a look at some new features, but it appears there is even more to Microsoft’s SkyDrive plans. LiveSide is reporting that the Wave 5 Milestone 3 release of SkyDrive will introduce support for BitLocker recovery keys storage alongside OpenDocument format support. The site speculates this could mean that Windows 8 will natively store decryption keys for its BitLocker hard drive encryption feature in the SkyDrive cloud.

Microsoft also appears to be testing out a http://sdrv.ms URL shortener for use when sharing direct to Twitter and other social networks. However, the biggest improvement in the company’s plans is the revelation that SkyDrive may move to a…

Question by Jackie: Does the Samsung Galaxy Indulge for MetroPCS have the 160 character limit? I’m looking into the Samsung Galaxy Indulge and was curious if it has the 160 character limit like most phones have for texting. Also, is there an option to sort pictures into folders?

Let me know your opinions and reviews of this phone too if you’d like :)

Thanks, people!

Best answer:

Answer by FrankThe limit on SMS is not due to the phone, but due to the service which all carriers set this for interoperability. If you want to do more than 160 characters, you would want to communicate via IM. Basic cell phones, or smart phones not using an IM will be restricted to 160 characters, but you should see that noted in the person you are chatting with. A good client you may want to consider is Fring.

You can sort pictures into folders, although this is best to do with a PC. Since it has a mirco-SD card, I will recommend that you create the folders, and drag the images into that folder as is. Make sure the pictures are in the pictures or photos folder. This will make it easier for the phone to find. DCIM are pictures you’ve taken on the phone.

Whatever the reason HTC instituted that 30fps cap on the EVO’s graphical output, the issue has just been remedied by — surprise, surprise — coders over at xda-developers. We’ve come across video evidence of the EVO 4G rolling along at a swift 54fps average clip, and another motion picture reel shows the positive effect this has had on the touch-tracking of the handset. Check them both out after the break and hit the source to get educated on how to make this happen on your own EVO. You should be warned that there are still some issues to resolve before the whole thing’s buttery smooth, but hey, it’s still a lot better than waiting for HTC to do it.
