Mind reading headware may probe your neurons, show interrogators who or what you know

You might pride yourself on your poker face, but there would be no way to hide from a skull-probing EEG helmet being developed by Veritas Scientific. The device takes advantage of a well-known medical response called P300, which causes your brain‘s voltage to drop a split-second after you put a name to a face or object. Simply by showing you a slideshow of different images, interrogators could tell whether or not you recognize a particular individual — or maybe that LTE-connected railgun hidden in your trunk. The company is pursuing military contracts and hopes to have a prototype ready in time for this year’s war game exercises, but meanwhile you might want to start thinking of a way to install that tinfoil hat inside your skull.

Designer discovers list of Windows Phones you'll likely never own

It looks like Nokia has been playing the blindfolded dictionary game again. Well, that’s if the image we see above is correct. It’s purportedly a table containing names of upcoming Windows Phone 8 devices, found by a curious wallpaper designer. The names listed for Nokia include “Fluid,” “Dogphone,” and the previously seen “Phi.” One slightly less superlative name — Nokia P4301 — caught the attention of PhoneArena, who mused that P might be for PureView? An interesting, if not optimistic leap. There are two other items in the table that might pique interest: a Samsung SGH-1687 and a Juggernaught Alpha. There’s little else to get excited about specification-wise, bar different versions of Windows Phone, however. That said, no one as yet has mentioned the elephant in the room — what about that “Virtual” model in the works from Microsoft?

Windows Phone Marketplace

We’ve heard Microsoft bandy around a figure of 180 countries getting Windows Phone 8 at launch for a week or so, but up until now we haven’t been able to see the list itself. Things are coming into focus today, as the company tells us exactly which 180 countries are getting Windows Phone 8 Marketplace and the company’s App Hub app submission portal when devices first hit stores. Perhaps more interesting than the list itself is the news that developers in every country with Windows Phone 8 Marketplace will be getting access to App Hub — a massive increase over the 38 markets available for aspiring developers in Marketplace’s previous iteration. Check below to see if your country made the cut (click the image for a larger…

Skyrim

Bethesda has announced that the update with Kinect-powered voice control for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will go live today. If you can’t quite wait before the update hits, though, you can get some practice in ahead of time — the developer has prepared a PDF list of commands that you’ll be able to shout into your sensor. As Polygon found out earlier this month, you can bellow commands in either English or dragon tongue, though the former option unsurprisingly proved more reliable. Meanwhile, the French, German, Italian, and Spanish versions of the update are all in final testing and will follow at a later date. The update is only for the Xbox 360 version of the game, but PC players can always use the unofficial mod we saw back in…

Republic Wireless is now issuing the cellphone equivalent of Willy Wonka’s golden tickets: an invite to its forthcoming beta. When you’ve been assigned a wave, you’ll then be placed on a wait list, only told a week before you have to place cash on the barrel for a handset. Our tipsters have told us that the company is pitching (via a survey, of course) to hit three price points for customers, each fee buying a smartphone and the first month’s service. All they could supply were the specs, so we’ve suggested some handsets that could fit the bill:

  • Entry Level: $ 199 gets a phone from an “unknown” manufacturer with a 3.5-inch touchscreen, 600MHz CPU, 0.5GB of storage and a 5-megapixel camera — which puts us in mind of the ZTE Libra or the iNQ Cloud Touch.
  • Mid-range: $ 299 will buy a handset from a “well known” manufacturer, 3.7-inch touchscreen, 1GHz CPU, 1GB storage, 5-megapixel camera and a VGA front-facer, similar to the Galaxy U, HTC One V or Huawei Vision.
  • Top Line: $ 499 gets you a 4.3-inch touchscreen phone with a 1.2Ghz dual-core CPU, 8GB storage and, weirdly, a 7-megapixel camera. We hope that last stat is a typo, since it rules out the vast majority of handsets at that level. If it was 8-megapixels, for example, we’d be thinking about phones like the Galaxy S II.

We reached out to the company for more details, and were told that it’s simply in a discovery phase of sorts — it’s still trying to get a better grasp on exactly what phones would be desired. Unfortunately, that means that there aren’t any concrete handset decisions to be shared just yet, but we’ll be sure to pass those along as soon as we find out ourselves.

[Thanks, Matt]

Question by : Can somebody give me a list of all Xbox Kinect games? Im getting a kinect and need a list of all kinect games out right now.

Best answer:

Answer by HelpHere are some Kinect Games. 1. Dance Central – I like dance central, but I still like Just Dance better. I play the wii but I do not own one, but my friend does and so far Just Dance seems to have better dance moves and it seems more fun, in my opinion. 2. Kinect Sports 3. Kinectamals – it is when you play with animals I think, I’ve seen a trailer of it once on tv. 4. Kinect Adventures – it has some games such as being on a raft and just sailing getting coins and stuff like that. 5. Kinect Joyride is when you drive and you can verse your friends.

I hope this helps.

I don’t have an xbox nor a wii, but my friend has both and I usually come over and it’s fun to play these games. I like them, yet they can get tiring so make sure to take breaks.

Question by : How do you get an Android to suggest a list of contact links? I have a new myTouch running Android, and I have several duplicate contacts. I noticed that on occasion it will suggest linking them, but is there a way to get the phone to give me the list again?

Thanks!

Best answer:

Answer by Jessica PThere is no way to get the phone to suggest these contact links again as far as I know but you can manually link each contact to others.

To do this, open one of those contacts and scroll down to the bottom. Tap the section labeled “Linked Contacts” and then tap the Add Link Contact button. On the next screen, find the contact you want to link, and it will be linked. Repeat these steps to link more contacts. You are limited to five linked contacts.
