In case you forget that AT&T’s latest LTE-equipped smartphone hit shelves today, consider this a friendly reminder from your mobile obsessed friends here at Engadget. We’re talking about the LG’s Nitro HD, the 4.5-inch device we lovingly handled last week — loaded with a skinned version of Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread, running atop its peppy 1.5 GHz Qualcomm APQ8060 dual-core processor. If you’ll recall, it’s notably packing a 1280 x 720p screen resolution with an ultra-crisp looking 329ppi, an 8 megapixel rear camera (1.3 MP up front) and a healthy 4GB of internal storage supplemented by an included 16GB microSD card (expandable to 32GB). Thankfully, bloatware on the Nitro is at an all time low, but we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention that’s it’s been confirmed to be loaded with the ickyness of Carrier IQ. Sure, it’s not as tasty as an Ice Cream Sandwich, but if your hungering for LTE-enabled 4G speeds on Ma Bell, at least you now have a third option. It can be yours now for $ 250 with a two-year renewal of service, and you’ll find more info at the source link below.

Say, what’s this? A 4G LTE-enabled Galaxy Nexus with a Verizon Wireless logo on the back? Certainly is, and it’s being discovered this morning in a series of overview / getting started videos hosted up on Google’s own YouTube channel. There’s still no word on when this guy’s hitting store shelves, but at least the whole “maybe it’s vaporware!” thing is now firmly in the past. As if it were ever in the present. Head on past the break to get yourself worked into an even zanier lather.
[Thanks, Matt]

Related Posts:Have you been itching some Verizon 4G love in a package that’s just a hair more portable than their also-just-announced HP Pavilion dm1? I know I haven’t, but Verizon has just announced their first 4G capable netbook, the Compaq Mini CQ10-688nr all the same.
The Mini packs a 1.66 GHz Intel Atom processor, a 250GB hard drive, and 1 GB of DDR3 RAM into its svelte-ish frame. It’s set to ship on Thursday, August 4th at $ 449.99 with a 2-year contract agreement and Verizon’s standard complement of 4G mobile broadband plans. You probably know them all by heart, but here they are for the 4G-uninitiated: $ 30 nets you 2 GB of monthly data usage, while $ 50 grants 5 GB, and $ 80 scores you 10GB.
All things considered, it’s not too shabby for such a tiny package, but it seems a bit underwhelming compared to its HP counterpart. It’s only less than half a pound lighter, and the Pavilion manages to squeeze a feistier processor, and a larger screen and hard drive into a package that isn’t that much bigger. I’m sure that true road warriors will appreciate the Compaq Mini’s extra portability, but my (admittedly poor) internal economist likes the idea of more power at a slightly higher price tag sans contract.
