This is the first in a line of videos I decided to make out of UI/UX drawings in one of my notebooks that I came up with for Microsoft’s Kinect after I first saw the initial video. Since I don’t know exactly what Kinect is capable of (I have not even tried it.), I’m guessing here and using very intentional gestures that won’t easily be confused with standard hand movements. As for the Xbox, the interface you see in the video could easily be replaced with the Xbox 360 dashboard with a few small modifications including the possibility of moving the back item to the left side at the end of the blades to fit slightly better and to allow for the vertical scrolling, I may try doing that in After Effects or something when I have time. I’d like to thanks @The_PHP_Jedi for edging me on to continue with these videos after the Warhammer 40K Microsoft Surface mockup video, I still can’t do much about turning that into reality since I’m only 15 and have a huge lack of money and hardware. This video was made using Keynote, nothing special, just time, an Apple remote and a few takes, sorry to burst your bubbles.

Controlling the music and content on your iPod or iPhone is easy to do with the Apple menus. Things can get more difficult if you have to use a system on an accessory that is different though. BMW has announced that it will support the iPod Out feature on iOS4.

The feature will allow BMW to put the actual menus from the iPod touch or the iPhone onto the cars in dash screen. BMW will support the feature on future BMW and Mini models.

This is a real win/win situation. BMW won’t need to develop its own menus and users will see the menus they are already familiar with. I hope that eventually we will be able to send the screens for things like GPS apps and multimedia content to the screen of the car.

I've had the mouse for a while and I like it generally, but I'm noticing that if you use a drop down menu in safari and hit the scroll wheel (even a little bit) it will cause the thing to lock up (hitting esc will free it up again).. it happens in a few other apps as well.

minor annoyance to be sure, but my previous mouse; the mx revolution didn't do this.
