Revo K2

Revo’s K2 can pull in FM, DAB and DAB+ broadcasts, stream internet radio and tunes from Last.fm. Not enough? Well you can hook up your iPod, iPhone or iPad too, and pull in music wirelessly from the library on you computer. It pumps out a total of 40-watts of “room-filling” audio using four drivers powered by a pair of Class-D amps. But let’s be honest — you want’ it cause it’s pretty. The hidden-until-activated OLED screen, aluminum body, and black rubber accents are the real draw here. Sure the iOS remote apps and DLNA compatibility are nice to have, but this £299.95 ($ 488) radio is all about drawing attention. The K2 is available for pre-order now and will start shipping on October 17th, while the Revo RadioControl app should land in iTunes around the same time. Check out the gallery below and the PR after the break.

Acer actually popped out its Revo RL100 media center right around six months ago, but for those unable to make the trip to Asia, today’s the day for getting jovial. Said player is now shipping to the US of A, hailed as a “digital hub” and outfitted with a dual-mode wireless touchpad / keyboard as well as the company’s own clear.fi streaming solution. A pair of models will be available — one with Blu-ray and one without — with the entire box measuring just 1- x 11.81- x 7.09-inches. As expected, an HDMI port ’round back will handle the bulk of the data transmissions, and an internal NVIDIA Ion graphics chip will be responsible for 1080p video playback. Within, you’ll get a 1.3GHz AMD Athlon II K325 CPU, 720GB SATA hard drive, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, three USB 2.0 ports, a multi-card reader, 802.11b/g/n WiFi and an Ethernet socket. Windows 7 Home Premium will be the OS of choice, and it can be yours for the tidy sum of $ 499.99 (or $ 569.99 if you’re looking to add BD capabilities).

…or 6 of them in case of failure so that I can easily restore to a working one. The battery problem is not a big issue as it is easy to replace the batteries with a little soldering. Well, here’s a first. We’ve never seen a round laptop before. It comes from Revo Round, so maybe it isn’t so surprising. Yep, this is a round laptop that comes with a round display, a round case and a curved keyboard.

It’s called the Roundtop. This has to be how aliens use the internet in their UFOs. This concept model would take some getting used to. Revo Round hopes that their Roundtop technology will see action as billboards and other displays one day. Good thing too, because this laptop is just too weird.

Can you smell it in the air? Autumn is most assuredly here. Sure, you can deduce as much from equinoxes or changing leaves, but if you ask us, it’s almost just as precise to go by a new, pre-holiday product cycle. Acer’s taken the cue with two new desktop SKUs — one each in the nettop and all-in-one categories. First with the latter: the 21.5-inch AZ3100 all-in-one (pictured). A tier lower than the AZ5700, this one lacks the multitouch and TV tuner, and instead utilizes a 2GHz AMD Athlon II 170u processor, NVIDIA GeForce 9200 graphics, 3GB RAM, and 500GB HDD. Add in a DVD drive, webcam, HDMI, six USB 2.0 ports, Windows 7 Home Premium, and a side chassis for “cable management.” It does best its older brother in the price category, though, at just $ 599 — about five Benjamins lower.

As for the Aspire Revo 3700, it was actually announced earlier this month, but now we’ve got the skinny on this book-sized nettop’s price and availability. That’d be $ 349 for the tag, and a street date of approximately… now, according to the press release. Speaking of which, all pertinent paperwork can be found after the break.

I have this baby playing all kinds of HD content from a NAS and it works like a charm. WMP works off the bat with the Nvidia drivers.

In XMBC, You have to use a DXVA aware branch of XBMC (or use an external player like MPC-HC) for the full HTPC experience, but it is an impressive piece of hardware.

Next in my list, get MAME to work with the sixaxis so I have the ultimate badass HTPC – light gaming rig.
