ipad-3

NextWorth, one of many websites that specialize in giving upgrade-hungry consumers a check for their used gadgets, said today that it experienced an over 1,000 percent increase in the volume of trade-ins across all iPad devices in the wake of Tuesday’s Apple event. The bottom line is that people look to be interested in getting the latest hardware, and are divesting themselves of older models to make that happen.

Of the new trade-in volume since Tuesday, the latest, third-generation iPad accounted for 66 percent, while the iPad 2 was responsible for 28 percent of newly swapped devices, and the original iPad came in at just 6 percent. It’s interesting that the iPad 3 is leading the pack: this means a good chunk of people who just bought a new iPad last spring or sometime since are interested in getting a newer version.

Whether those buyers are looking for the iPad mini, or the beefed up fourth-generation iPad is hard to tell from these numbers alone, but we’ll see how initial sales progress during the holiday quarter to find out. I have to say, I’m tempted to swap out my third-generation iPad for the new Lightning-capable hotness myself, if only just to minimize my cable clutter. Anyone else making the switch?

Question by Saqib Fazal: What is the difference between artificial intelligence and robotics?Do oyu know any site where i can get info?

Best answer:

Answer by Raul GArtificial intelligence is “a program” in its lower term that can learn new tricks by itself. No human intervention, while robotics follow very complicated set of rules, but live by them and cannot brake them.

eBay unveils redesign, deals site and launches sameday delivery

After eBay finally straightened out its logo and became ebay (it’ll always be camel-cased in our hearts) it seemed only logical that the site itself would get a long overdue facelift too. At a press event today in NYC the tenacious dot-com holdover unveiled the most dramatic redesign of its long and storied existence. The look has been compared, repeatedly in the media, to Pinterest with its endless, uneven grid of product boxes and curated feed of auctions. The design is cleaner, with less text and better suited to scale for mobile and the upcoming onslaught of touchscreens. You can also like auctions on Facebook, which it hopes will drive more traffic to the site. The company quietly launched eBay Lifestyle Deals as well, a local coupon service in the vein of Groupon and Google Offers. Right now the deals are only available in a few major cities, including Washington DC, San Francisco and LA. SF is also the beneficiary of eBay Now, the same-day delivery service that entered beta testing in early August. There isn’t an immediate expansion to accompany the end of the trial, but more cities should be added soon. If you’re not seeing the new design yet, look for the “Feeds” option on the home page to switch over now.

The New York Times reports that Comcast (which controls NBCUniversal) is giving Microsoft roughly $ 300 million in the deal, citing “people with knowledge of the transaction.” MSNBC.com is said to be returning in 2013, as the online presence of the MSNBC cable channel.

Rumors have been swirling about the buy-back since May, when Adweek first broke the story. While Microsoft sold its interest in the MSNBC cable channel back in 2005, it has been holding on to its share in MSNBC.com. The arrangement left ad sales for the site under Microsoft’s control, reportedly hamstringing MSNBC’s efforts to…

VAIO T13 Ultrabook could be coming with Ivy Bridge, according to Sony's German site

If Sony’s German site is to be believed, then it’s safe to say the outfit’s had a change of heart recently. According to a revealing spec sheet on the website, there’s now a T13 Ultrabook model with one of Intel’s latest chips on board. Just last week, Sony announced the Euro-bound T13 would be sporting a last-gen Core i3-2367M CPU, but the recent finding shows an i5-3317U variant (you know, the one on Sammy’s Series 9) could be in the works. Still, it’s unknown whether this Ivy Bridge-packing VAIO would replace its Sandy Bridge sibling or if it’s just going to be a complete different offering. We’ll have to wait and see.

incredible4g

It’s been spotted in leaked press renders and blurry photos before, but Verizon has just recently (and perhaps inadvertently) made the new Droid Incredible nice and official. The Droid Incredible 4G LTE just popped up on Verizon’s Droid Does promotional site, and while you can’t have one just yet, it’s comforting to know that it’ll see the light of say sooner rather than later.

In addition to a mildly unnerving robo-lady talking up the device’s LTE radio and HTC’s Sense UI, the site also confirms most of the specs that have been previously reported.

The Ice Cream Sandwich-powered Incredible 4G LTE indeed sports a 1.2GHz dual-core processor (though as usual, they don’t mention what make), 1GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel camera, in addition to a 4-inch qHD Super LCD display, 8GB of internal storage, and the now-standard Beats Audio profile.

All of that is squeezed into a frame that comes in at 0.46-inches thick — a bit more of a handful than your iPhone or Galaxy Nexus, though I imagine the difference won’t mean much for anyone but the most jaded sticklers. The device also features the same sort of hardware navigation key layout as seen in the HTC One series, though I wish Verizon and HTC would have opted to carry over more of the One series’ wonderful industrial design language.

According to the Droid Does site, Verizon could be sell the Droid Incredible 4G LTE (I’m getting really tired of typing that out) for the princely sum of $ 299 with a two-year contract — I say “could” because there are plenty of references on the page to the Droid Razr MAXX, which coincidentally costs exactly that. Hell, despite having a Buy Now link placed prominently on the page, clicking the link takes you to the product page for the Motorola Razr MAXX. Something seems slightly amiss here, and I’ll keep you posted on any developments.
