Is there anything worse than the sound of a crying baby? That was meant to be rhetorical. This is a video of a baby that can allegedly be soothed from a fit every time by playing the Star Wars theme. I have zero interest in testing it, so I’ll just have to take their word for it.
We discovered by accident that the Star Wars Theme Song has magical abilities to calm the baby down. He was screaming and crying in the car one day, and the MP3 player started playing this song and he just stopped. Then, every time after that when he’d be crying for no reason (we knew his diaper was clean, tummy was full, etc.) and we’d play this song, he’d perk right up.
He is 4 months old in this video.
You know what else gets babies to stop crying? Closing the nursery door and getting far enough away so you can’t hear them. It’s like that saying: If a baby cries in its crib and nobody’s around to hear it, WTF was I thinking not wearing a condom? Stupid stupid stupid! “GW? Please don’t ever have kids.” Ha, my balls are toasted anyways.

This is a video of violinist Lindsey Stirling (of Zelda, Lord of the Rings and Skyrim themes fame) performing a cover of the Game of Thrones theme. Like the rest of her stuff, the production value of the video is ridiculous and she plays in her usual — what’s the nice way to say spazzy? “Expressive.” Yes! She plays in her usual EXPRESSIVE style. No worries, Lindsey, I play music pretty expressively myself. “You have zero musical talent.” Whatever! *tries to whistle, spits out a tooth* Oh shishi, I hope that wasn’t one of mine. “Who else’s could it be?” I kiss HARD.

Despite clearly outsourcing their graphics to a 2nd grade art class, Z-World Detroit is a real concept developed by entrepreneur Mark Siwak, who’s tired of watching the city crumble to pieces and wants to do something about it. The idea is to turn 200-acres of the city’s abandoned warehouses and neighborhoods into a theme park that provides a “run-and-hide and find supplies” overnight zombie apocalypse experience to visitors. Granted that doesn’t really sound like a city-saving idea, but whatever, as long as they let me bring my own ninja sword and get high in the parking lot beforehand.

This is a video of somebody playing the Harry Potter theme entirely on the rims of wine glasses. No clue where the hell they got thirty wine glasses from, but my guess is somebody’s mom is no stranger to popping a bottle before noon. That’s my kinda lady. Love those red teeth.

This is a video of TheHumanTim performing a rock version of the theme from LaVar Burton’s Reading Rainbow. Not gonna lie, it could have used some Geekologie Writer vocals. *clearing throat*
♫ Butterfly in the sky
I can go twice as high Take a look It’s in a book A Reading Rainbow
I can…not read these words I only know the very first part now this is awkwaaaard ♫
Appropriately, the video ends with a clip of Tim reading Jurassic Park — but you don’t have to take my word for it. Get it? Because LaVar used to say in every show. Also, “I’m tired of wearing this stupid f***ing VISOR — make Data do it.” (That was from Star Trek)

This is a video of Avengers fan TheHumanTim performing a one-man rock version of the Avengers movie theme, with a little tribute to the animated series and Iron Man thrown in for good measure. I’ve actually been listening to it all day, which might explain why I’ve been so full of angst-y rage. Hulk smash! *tries to crush beer can on head, collapses* “You do realize that was an unopened soup can, don’t you?” I was caught up in the moment, okay? Oooooh, clam chowder.

Remember Pokemon Love Song girl Danica? Well she’s back, this time performing a “jazzy/ukulele-ey/Pokémon-ey” cover of the Pokemon theme song. She has a pretty voice. Granted I’ve never been a judge on a reality singing show, but that’s because I have a little something I like to call SELF RESPECT. Just kidding, I’m tone deaf. But has that ever stopped me from performing Britney Spears songs at karaoke whil pretending to fellate the mic? It has not. I’m still a performer, dammit!

This is a giant barrel organ decorated in Star Wars LEGO scenes that, when hand-cranked, has pieces that hit little metal fingers that in turn push organ keys and play the Star Wars theme. That’s pretty cool. Granted not as cool as my gerbil, but he died last year and I keep his little corpse in a jewelry box in the freezer.
We took the iconic Star Wars Main Theme, rearranged it and translated it into a matrix – the constrution [sic] blueprint for the organ. Then, we took the four most famous Star Wars worlds – Hoth, Tatooine, Endor and the Death Star – and built them on to the barrel, accordingly to the musical composition. When the organ is turned, the bricks touch little mechanical sensors – which strike the keys of a keyboard and play the Star Wars Main Theme.
The organ is currently making its rounds through German movie theaters to celebrate the release of The Phantom Menace in 3-D, which is way too far to travel to see such a shitty movie. *cranks organ so hard the barrel breaks off and rolls through the lobby like the boulder in Raiders of the Lost Ark* You suck so hard, George.
