What kind of engineering should a student study if they want to study robotics and design machines and robots?

Electrical or computer, however it depends what you’re really wanting to get into. if the controls are really what fascinate you, the US doesn’t actually have an electromechanical engineer degree, but controls in the US are generally mechanical and computer engineers. Electrical engineers also are key in controls and circuit design. Computer engineers are key in developing the software and the “brains” of the robots. I can tell you the KSU solar car is pretty much a robot, other than the brakes and steering.

I think it’s Mechatronics, it includes both mechanics and electronics fields
