when does kinect release and does it need an adaptor for the regular xbox 360′s to work with it.

The new Xbox 360 S systems have a built in connection that supports Kinect directly, so there is no need for external power. On the old systems, you need to connect an additional cable from the kinect sensor into the wall outlet to power it. It is due to be released on November 4th in the United States.
